Situated on the Pacific coastline of Banderas Bay, it is a popular tourist destination known for its stunning beaches, vibrant culture, and charming atmosphere, and offers a beautiful full view of the surrounding bay from its shoreline.
The town of Bucerias has a rich history, with roots that date back to pre-Hispanic times. Originally inhabited by indigenous peoples as a small fishing village, the area eventually became home to Spanish settlers in the 1600s. Today, Bucerias retains much of its traditional charm, with cobblestone streets, colorful buildings with influences of colonial architecture, and a central plaza that is a hub of activity every day of the week.
One of the main draws of Bucerias is the long and beautiful beach. The lovely sandy shore offers plenty of opportunities for relaxation and recreation. Visitors can enjoy swimming, sunbathing, and water sports such as surfing and paddleboarding, or just long walks down the coastline. It’s also one of the most popular places in Banderas Bay for kitesurfing and it’s incredible to see the heights that these talented athletes can achieve as they launch from the waves and soar into the sky.
